Tuberculosis
Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan
Tuberculosis (TB) is one of India’s major public health problems. According to World Health Organization (WHO) estimates, India has the world’s largest tuberculosis epidemic. In 2023, India has incidence rate of 199 cases per 100,000 of population. India aims to completely eliminate TB by 2025 through the Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan. This is a social initiative to augment community involvement in meeting India’s commitment to end TB and leveraging Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities. The Abhiyaan endeavors at increasing awareness among the public regarding TB, engaging community in active case finding, supporting the treatment cascade, reducing stigma related to TB and nutrient supplementation to reduce out-of-pocket expenditure for the family of the TB patient.
