How we began
The USEA Trust was created in February 2019 as the Union South East Asia (USEA) Trust as an independent entity and was hosted by The International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease (The Union) in New Delhi. The Trust was set up Prabodh Bhambal and Jamhoih (Jamie) Tonsing who were in 2019 employees of The Union.
In May 2023, we have reconstituted the Trust with new Trustees (Susheel Kumar and Samyadip Chatterji) and the Trust has moved into its own office in Munirka New Delhi and is focusing its efforts on working with government and communities to strengthen delivery of public health.
Our flagship project “Transforming 1000 villages as TB free villages – a commitment towards Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abiyan” is working on making 1000 TB free villages in the states of Maharashtra, Karnataka and Odisha with support from JSW Foundation.
